L’Aquarium in Playa del Carmen is the newest entertainment edition
It’s big, it’s fabulous and it’s easy to access. The newly opened L’Aquarium is the Mexican Caribbean’s first, also making it Playa’s first aquarium. Developed by Blau Life, the aquarium is Playa’s newest entertainment attraction for both locals and area visitors.
Located on the corner of Calle 14 and Fifth Avenue, L’Aquarium displays 200 marine species in 40 themed exhibits that transform visitors to the marine world. The idea is to showcase local Riviera Maya marine life while promoting environmental conservation.
On site life include seahorses, coral, jellyfish and and world of colorful marine life specific to Mexico’s Riviera Maya.
Aquarium technology sees 7 million liters of water pumped daily to provide a water quality that replicates sea conditions.
Alejandro Nasta, Director de Blau Life says, “We want to create in Playa del Carmen L’Aquarium a space not only of family, but also a space that inspires people to care about our aquatic environment that will enable them to make choices in their lifestyles that are friendly to the environment.”
Entry to the aquarium is $15 USD for visitors with a special discounted price of $11 USD for nationals and $8 USD for locals.
