Large Mercado Vegano Set for Playa del Carmen
Mark your calendars for one of the largest vegan markets to ever hit Playa del Carmen. On Saturday April 9, there will be more than 100 animal-free products available at Parque La Ceiba in Playa del Carmen.
The responsible consumption market will showcase both healthy human and pet products that are free of animal exploitation. Alín Padilla Macías, promotor of the event for Cancun and Playa del Carmen explains, “that the goal of the market is to promote veganism as a way of life in which there is respect for all animals. From food, clothing and fun. The workshops will provide the playense community an option and a responsible alternative to consumption by removing the idea that being vegan is difficult and to prove that every day it is easier to have a lifestyle free of animal products.”
She adds that currently, being vegan is not more expensive than maintaining a common diet of everyday harmful products and pointed out that the industries producing meat, milk and eggs are of the most tormented and tortured animals.
The market will include information and talks on veganism and activism and will have spokespeople from different areas ranging from the safest way to walk your pets to talks on at-risk wildlife.
Saturday’s market will offer consumers product options that include tamales, tacos, choripanes, pastries, facial creams, soaps, shampoos, and even clothes and shoes.
The market will also have lectures and workshops for adults and kids as well as music and activities for the entire family.
Mercado Vegano kicks off Saturday at 12:00 (noon) on April 9 at Parque La Cieba, which is located at Calle 1 Sur in Ejidal.
