Luxury accommodations tourist preference for Cancun, Riviera Maya
It seems luxury is the prime attraction for visitors to Cancun and the Riviera Maya. Albeit all-inclusive hotels or luxurious condo hotels, high earning power and high spending power are quickly becoming the new trend. Statistics show that visitors utilizing Gran Turismo are spending between $10,000 and $15,000 USD per stay.
Jesus Almaguer Salazar, director general of the Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB), explains, “In the area of tourism with high purchasing power we will advance forward, not only in the area of accommodations, but also in the provision of related services such as restaurants, shopping, luxury weddings and exclusive excursions with high quality services.”
One of the major attractions of these high spenders is fishing. Deep-sea fishing in the Caribbean Sea is, for many, the equivalent of a safari in Africa. The entire Yucatan Peninsula is world-renowned for its deep sea fishing experiences, and since each fishing season offers a different species, it’s a popular activity year round.
Almaguer Salazar says that when it comes to other luxury amenities being sought out, “The products we have that tourists want include luxury rental cars, yachts and private air transport.”
There are six hotels in the Cancun – Riviera Maya region with the distinction of Gran Turismo. There are also many incredible real estate investment opportunities available in the region that cater to those with a taste for the best of the best.
