OHL Classic Golf Tournament promotes Riviera Maya
The mayor of Solidarity, Mauricio Góngora Escalante, has marked a special day in the Riviera Maya in recognition of the efforts of organizers of the annual Mayakoba OHL Classic PGA Golf Tournament.
In recognition of the event, Góngora Escalante announced a new sports day that will promote the event and the destination worldwide. In its ninth year, the annual golf tournament helps promote the Rivera Maya as a safe tourist destination with quality, prestige and natural beauty.
The event also attracts a lot of international attention that fills large hotel resorts and promotes private investments that contribute to the development of the municipality and employment generation.
In a press conference, Mayor Mauricio Gongora said that the Riviera Maya is a safe destination with tourist infrastructure and quality services with incredible beaches and entertainment centers making it the perfect destination for international events.
The Riviera Maya is recognized as a natural setting for the OHL Classic PGA Tour. For the past nine years the event has made history as being the first PGA-level golf tournament to be played outside the United States and Canada.
This year’s classic golf tournament will include 132 professional golfers from around the world. The event is scheduled to take place from November 12 to 15.
