Riviera Maya has established itself as a leader in tourism
The Riviera Maya has established itself as a leading tourist destination, attracting national and international investments. With the strategic planning of President Enrique Peña, Governor Roberto Borge Angulo and Mayor of Solidarity, Gongora Mauricio Escalante, planning and promoting the region has made it the number one destination in Mexico.
The Riviera Maya has also become the main meeting point for international events. Entrepreneurs, leaders of associations and various chambers have noted the impressive growth of the Riviera Maya over the last two years.
This growth has been credited to the joint efforts of all three branches of government, placing the destination in an upward trajectory with quality tourist infrastructure and services.
Flota Ocampo, president of Trust for Tourism Promotion of the Riviera Maya, stressed that the effective promotion of Mayor Mauricio Gongora has resulted in private investments of over $3 billion dollars, projects that inlcude tourist developments and brand, high-value shopping centers. He says these projects will materialize over the next three years and allow us to continue creating jobs.
“Mayor Mauricio Gongora recognizes the importance of private investment in the tourism development of the region as a generator of employment and economic flow of hotels in benefit of the residents. In recent years there has been a substantial economic benefit to the city, keeping an average of 86 percent occupancy rate during the 2015 season, “said Dario Flota.
