World wakeboard competition 2015 hosted by Riviera Maya
If you’re visiting Cancun or Playa del Carmen around the 27th of this month, or perhaps you’re a local looking for something different to do, the Riviera Maya will be hosting the World Wakeboard Championship this year.
It’s an incredible event to witness as water acrobats from around the world participate for the crown. This year, the event has 200 participants from 30 countries competing for the title.
Wakeboard enthusiasts pumped with adrenaline head out on the open water to showcase their most impressive tricks only possible by the best wakeboard riders in the world. Last year the worldwide event was held in Busan, Korea and this year it will be a spectacular five-day event in the Riviera Maya.
The wakeboard competition will take place October 27 to 31. The closing ceremony and presentation of the $50,000 first prize will be held on October 31. The event will include more than 1,000 guests.
If you’re interested in kicking back and taking in a ‘wow’ of a day or two of wakeboard events, you can head down to Mayan Watersport complex which is about 20 minutes south of Cancun.
